Siwan's two OSTs since his release from military

After his release from the military Siwan worked on various dramas, films and web series. For two dramas - Run On and Tracer, Siwan presented two distinctly different OSTs.

The two OSTs have completely different vibe - one is a romantic soft song and another a high-on-adrenaline k-pop song.

"I and You" from Run On was written by Yim Siwan, 김성민(Chansline), 김시원(Chansline), 박보정(Chansline), 황찬희 (source Spotify).

"Fire" from Tracer was written by Nuvocity and Yim Siwan (source Spotify).

Here is the I and You OST. More on this in my another blog here.

This song is in the last episode of the series when Mi Joo starts talking about her foreign trip. Seon Gyeom has a very specific expression when Mi Joo takes off like that. He loves listening to her - patiently, attentively. The song plays in the background, with the words "I want to know everything."

It's an adorably sweet song. I love listening to it in my car. Recently I discovered an interview, in it Siwan said that he wanted to create this song such that it is nice to hear on long drives. It is so - try it if you haven't.

On the other end of the spectrum is "Fire". This OST is also played in the last episode of Tracer - in fact it is over the end credits. With many lines in English, this song is meant to invoke a feeling of rebellion - urging you to not give up. Siwan says that "He's waiting for you, right now!" Makes you want to go that extra mile in whatever you are doing.

Here is the song...

Love the swag that Siwan has shown in this series and this song.

There's one incredible thing that's common between these two drastically different songs. Siwan experimented with them in his last Fan Concert in February - whY I aM in Seoul.

For I & You, Siwan tried a really long legato which had a slight hint of vibrato in the end.

For Fire, he brought in an agressive vibe with mainly staccato notes. He also brought in a bit of legato singing (almost scream-singing) - full of passion. Hyojin Choi's choreo took the entire performace to another level.

(A nice explanation on what are legato, staccato & vibrato.)

Here's a glimpse of the two performances.

There are performers and there is SIWAN!

Can't wait for many more new songs and OSTs from him!
